Genaro Solis Rivero
Though we don’t know what tomorrow holds, we do know who holds tomorrow.
—Ed Newton, CBC Pastor

Genaro Solis Rivero is a graphic designer and a design educator teaching Communication Design in the School of Art and Design at Texas State University since Fall of 2018. He began his career as a graphic designer at Equilibrio in Mexico City and co-founded Contrasto Group, a graphic design studio that specialized in editorial design and branding. After Genaro received his M.F.A. degree from Texas State in 2012, he opened Genaro Design, a boutique branding agency in San Antonio, Texas. The spring of 2020 brought a great opportunity for a joint venture with Legacy79; since, Genaro has been the Master Ideator of the L79 Family and a proud 79er!
Genaro strongly believes in giving back to the community; hence, he has utilized his expertise in graphic design to support several cause-based NPOs throughout the years. His philanthropist spirit began with his active involvement with the Shriners Hospitals for Children in the late ’90s. In 2017, Genaro undertook the Classical Music Institute rebrand as a pro-bono work and this relationship led him to serve as Chair of the Marketing Committee of the CMI Board of Directors for couple of years.
Genaro’s communication design has been recognized by national and international industry leading organizations and publications, which include: The American Advertising Federation, Art Directors Club of Houston, Creative Summit, Dallas Society of Visual Communications, Good50x70, Graphis Press, and LogoLounge.
Teaching what I love and loving what I teach, is how Genaro describes his new passion for design education. He loves a good glass of wine, is a foodie—and espresso is a must. Genaro loves to travel and learn about different cultures. He is fan of the Dallas Cowboys; although, his passion for horses influenced his inclination for the Denver Broncos when he was a child. He is a member of Community Bible Church and enjoys Christian contemporary music. He is married and his two boys keep him busy when he is not teaching, reading, or designing.
