With an unmatched dedication to creating and transforming brand experiences, I also have a calling to teach graphic design in higher education.

Genaro Solis Rivero.

I am passionate about guiding businesses to create memorable experiences and preparing students for successful careers in graphic design.

I am a graphic designer and educator based in Central Texas, dedicated to helping businesses create memorable experiences that foster recognition and trust. At Baylor University, I teach the ins and outs of graphic design, and I strongly believe in the power of storytelling, strong messaging, and thoughtful conceptual strategies.

As part of the creative leadership at Legacy79, an award-winning branding agency, I excel in crafting meaningful visual solutions. My work, distinguished by my unique bicultural mindset, is a testament to my ability to listen and discern business needs.

Clients describe my designs as sophisticated, powerful, and always getting noticed. My students see me as a challenging professor who loves seeing them rise to the occasion, always inspiring them to love and respect design. I care deeply about my students’ career success and well-being, offering support beyond the classroom and college. For me, it’s not just about academics, grades, or projects but about preparing my students for thriving careers; my door is always open.

My focus in teaching and professional practice is human-centered design (HCD), enterprise-scale design, and a robust approach to critical thinking and storytelling.
Design

Over close to twenty-five years of professional practice, I’ve been blessed to help start-ups, non-profit organizations, fortune 500, and friends with logos, posters, brochures, environmental graphics, illustrations, websites, collateral, and strategies to better engage with their customers.

Teaching

As an educator since 2018, I’ve taught at Texas State University and now Baylor University. My focus is on human-centered design, strategic thinking, and conceptual solutions, fostering a deep understanding of visual communication and inspiring future designers.

Methodology

In graphic design, there are no magic tricks. Design does not happen by accident; it happens by design, as Jeffrey “Jefe” Davis, one of my mentors, defines good design. I aim to follow a design methodology, which works and has produced results that get noticed, and have been recognized by leading design publications.

I have a proven success track-record.
Art Direction

I have partnered with successful creatives as well as led several design teams to successful designs and branding efforts.

Identity Design

This is where I thrive professionally and in the classroom; I love conceptual-smart identities. Keep them simple.

Editorial Design

Growing up around my dad’s commercial offset printer, I’ve come to love designing brochures and annual reports. Print isn’t dead.

Artificial Intelligence

I have always loved to learn. AI is no different, I embrace it rather than become obsolete. It is all about amplifying human potential.

Conceptual Strategies

Graphic design is all about communication and successful designs evoke action and it is only achieved if memorable. Concept is king.

Cooking

I have a passion for cooking, grilling, good wine, and a must-have espresso. I enjoy cooking with good wine, sometimes I even put in in the food.

I have worked with Genaro for many years on several projects, some small startups and others larger, more sophisticated companies. He brings a strong bi-cultural mindset to his creativity, which makes his work stand out in a very unusual way. If your idea is to have a design that gets you or your business noticed, this is your man.

We’ve been very pleased working with Genaro. He understood our design style and responded with a fresh, clean, and fun look. He was easy to work with and even helped us with our Spanish translations. Everything in our museum is bilingual, so working with someone who can operate in both languages is very helpful.

I have had the pleasure of working with Genaro. I cannot say enough about his professionalism and good work. The rebranding he and his team did was not only amazing, but it also earned him honors at the Graphis Design Annual competition. I recommend Genaro if you want to take your company branding to the next level.
