Graphis New Talent 2021

My dear Texas State ComDes students did it again!

In addition to getting more adjudications than last year, Mikayla Stump’s Detroit City logo was adjudicated a GRAPHIS PLATINUM AWARD! She developed this logo for her ARTC 3304, Branding Systems course under the direction of professor Jeffrey G. Davis (aka jefe). This is the first Graphis New Talent Annual Platinum award in the history of our ComDes Program and we are very excited and happy for our student huge accomplishment.

Additionally, this year’s adjudications included advertising campaigns, photography, a book, motion graphics, branding systems, and identities—totaling 184 student adjudications.

  • One Platinum Award
  • 14 Gold Awards
  • 44 Silver Awards
  • 125 Honorable Mentions

These milestones have a profound weight in our industry, they do not just validate the quality of their work, but participating in student design competitions reveal the competitive and hard-working spirits of these great students. I can not wait to see all your work in this year’s annual and of course honored them during our TOP COM DES 2021 in fall.

The best awards for us—the faculty—are not the trophies or certificates, but it is the opportunity of witnessing first-hand our students’ joy and gain of confidence after receiving the honors.

Congratulations ComDes Bobcats!
